I was the Advancement Coordinator at Colorado Springs Food Rescue in Colorado Springs. This organization is a non-profit working towards Food Justice in our community. This means not just serving immediate hunger needs, but working to dismantle our current food system and rebuild an equitable ecosystem in its place. Founded as part of a network of food rescues, CSFR has expanded to include education, community gardens, and composting services. My responsibilities included volunteer coordination, data entry, managing our F.L.Y interns, and being a member of the Development Committee. Though I worked mostly remotely, I was able to assist with some hands-on projects such as building bio-reactors on the CC Farm. I also was fortunate to participate in community wealth building workshops and other supplemental learning opportunities with the organization staff.
