Ilana Rosenberg ’21
This summer, I worked as a development/marketing intern for Colorado Volunteer Doulas (CVD). CVD is a nonprofit organization that provides volunteer doula services for birthers in the Denver Metropolitan area. As an intern for CVD, I worked on a three-year strategic plan, identified resources and contacted educators in the birth justice field for trainings, and worked on marketing with social media. This summer was an amazing opportunity for me to get involved in the field that I am hoping to work in once I graduate. As an aspiring nurse-midwife, CVD allowed me to get my doula certification and educate myself and the organization on birth justice. Their mission that everyone deserves a doula is something I strongly believe in and I am very appreciative of the opportunities I had to collaborate with other birth workers, expand the organization, and learn nonprofit management skills.
