This summer I interned for the Judith Jaffe Multiple Sclerosis Clinical Care and Research Center, an organization in New York City that provides patient care, research, and education on autoimmune diseases of the central nervous system, specializing in multiple sclerosis. My internship initially consisted of on-site lab work but, due to COVID-19 limitations, changed to remotely writing a review article on pertussis toxin. Though not the experience I had expected, I did end up loving this internship. I read many, many papers worth of neuroscience research, bolstering my scientific literacy and knowledge. I also greatly appreciated and grew from the opportunity to write scientifically in a professional setting and manage my own time and process. I look forward to similar opportunities in the future as I pursue neuroscience and medicine!
